Katina’s professional work experience began at age 17 as an INROADS intern at Wheat First Securities, Inc. in Richmond, VA. She held this position throughout college, completing assignments in operations, equity syndicate, brokerage sales administrative support, and the investment management group. After graduating from the University of Richmond, Katina selected a non-traditional route in environmental sales and network marketing. In the late 1990’s, she began working in ministry, as an administrative assistant at the Temple of Judah Ministries in Richmond’s historic Church Hill. During this time, she also served as a youth leader with the Citadel of Hope Youth Ministry. These opportunities evolved into a full time ministry assignment as the Youth Program Director of the Citadel of Hope After-School Tutorial Service and Summer Youth Academy from 2001 through 2003.
In 2004, Katina began serving with the middle school youth ministry at Faith Landmarks Ministries, also in Richmond, Virginia. Over the next seven years, Katina progressed to become ministry leader, supervising programming for approximately 100 middle school youth and overseeing about 30 adult volunteers. This experience included four overseas evangelistic missions to Central America, three trips to Guatemala and one trip to El Salvador.
Professionally, from 2004-2014, Katina Moss worked as a Business & IT instructor at Hopewell High School in Hopewell, Virginia. During this time, Katina served as an FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) advisor and founding faculty advisor for the Hopewell High Interact Club, the youth level of Rotary International. Currently, Katina is President of the Rotary Club of Hopewell and a volunteer with the Hopewell Downtown Partnership, an organization dedicated to building a healthy, vibrant, and prosperous central downtown district for the Hopewell Community.
Her work with the Hopewell Downtown Partnership was through a fruitful collaboration with Hopewell High FBLA, where business students actively participated in and contributed to the planning and implementation of economic development events in Downtown Hopewell.
For three years, Katina served as instructional facilitator and therefore CEO of Blue Devils, Inc.; a profitable student owned and operated enterprise introduced to Hopewell High School through the EnterprisePrepTM curriculum, a fundamental yet innovative approach to engaging students in a business ownership experience. In July 2014, Katina established K. Moss & Associates, LLC, a entrepreneurial endeavor to address the unique needs of youth, young adults and the young at heart who desperately desire to escape the drudgery of daily life to live passionately and on purpose fulfilling their dreams. One vehicle for accomplishing this is Katina’s partnership with entrepreneurs Charles and Leah Coleman to found House of {E}, the Richmond Metro Area’s Premier Confidence Builder for Youth and Young Adults – Seeking a Supportive, Encouraging and Productive Community to Develop Career, Business and Entrepreneurship Skills. www.HouseofE.org.
Katina is also a Managing Partner for the Inspiration Center, an event venue (formerly Meljo’s) in Freeman, Virginia and the Marketing Manager at BEL Network Integration & Support, a managed services IT firm in Chester, Virginia.
Katina received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the E. Claiborne Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond. She also holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Master of Science in Education Media Design and Technology from Full Sail University, and a Diploma in Ministerial Studies from Faith Landmarks Bible Institute. Moss is a member of Greenwood Baptist Church near Ashland, Virginia where Todd B. Winston is Pastor. At Greenwood, Katina serves in prison ministry as a volunteer at Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center.
